  • UVB rays have a little more energy than UVA rays. These rays can directly damage the DNA of skin cells and are responsible for causing skin burns.

What does the sun bring us?

Not everything is negative. Among other things, the sun can bring us happiness, energy, and benefits for our body, such as vitamin D. This occurs when our skin is exposed to sunlight and, therefore, we also know it as the “sunlight” vitamin, allied in the absorption of calcium and phosphorus, which is why it is very important for the health of our bones.

In addition, another of the peculiarities of this vitamin is that it influences our mood since it intervenes in the synthesis of the neurotransmitters of dopamine and serotonin, whose low levels are linked to depression.

Incorporate vitamin D into your diet

The sun is not the only way by which we can acquire vitamin D. We can also get it by incorporating into our diet foods such as bluefish, dairy products, cereals, mushrooms or eggs, among the most prominent.
